The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2019 twice in a year to give a fair chance to all the students according to the latest announcement by MHRD. JEE Main 2019 will be a fully computer based test (online) to be held in January and April 2019.There will be no change in syllabus, exam pattern, fee or language of the exam ( i.e.English, Hindi and Gujarati (in some test centers)).

Online Availability of the application form starts ( For January Exam) : 01st September 2018
Last date to submit the application form ( For January Exam) : 30th September 2018
Application Form available from ( For April Exam) : 8th February 2019
Last date to submit the application form ( For April Exam) : 7th March 2019

JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEE-MAIN)

JEE Main is a national level entrance conducted to fill the various seats under all the bachelor level engineering courses, every year. JEE Main score is validated across all the engineering colleges in India.
The JEE Mains 2019 Examination is being held in the country as one of the most popular entrance examinations for admissions in top engineering colleges of India in
undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes.

The JEE Mains examination was held once a year and the conducting body was CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

But, from 2019, it is expected that the conducting body will be changed and the new conducting body for JEE Main will be NTA (National Testing Agency).

NTA will be the conducting body of all the Examination that was being held by CBSE, AICTE and other such conducting bodies.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Dates :
Earlier, it was conducted once a year. But from 2019 onwards, it will be conducted twice a year under the supervision of NTA.
Candidates can now appear for JEE Main as per their convenience, either in the month of January or April 2019 or in both of these months. The better rank in any of these months will be considered for admission purposes.

Candidates need to appear for JEE Main 2019 only through online mode.
They will be able to choose from 8 different sittings as per their convenience, to appear for the exam.
  




Eligibility Criteria  For JEE MAIN :

  • If you have appeared in your class 12 examination in the year of 2017 or 2018, you can apply for this year’s JEE Main.
  • If you will be appearing in your class 12 examination, you can apply too.
  • If you have 5 subjects in your class 12 you are eligible to apply, candidates with 4 subjects in their class 12 will not be accepted.
  • The candidates who have attempted JEE Main three times will not be allowed, as the number of maximum attempts is 3.

Qualifying Examinations –
i) The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
iii) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
iv) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
v) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
vi) A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
vii) 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination (QE)
Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/ qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main)-2019. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE(Main) 2019 .

Age criteria:  Aspirants of JEE Main 2019 should have been born on or after October 1, 1994 can apply. For candidate belonging to SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

No of attempts in JEE(Main) Exam :

The attempt limit of JEE Main will also be same as the previous year i.e 3 attempts.
But there is still a confirmation required from the authorities, whether it will be 3 attempts taken consecutively or 3 attempts taken in 3 years.
Admission session and the counseling will be held only once, unlike the JEE Main exam. However, there will be no changes in the procedure of the JEE Advanced.

Exam Duration: 3 hours
Question Type: Multiple Choice Based Questions
Medium Of Language: English, Hindi, and Gujarati ( across some regional test centers of Daman, Diu, Gujarat and Nagar Haveli)
No. Of Questions To Be Attempted: 30 questions each from PCM – For BE/BTech and for B.Arch/B. Plan, 50 questions from aptitude section, 30 questions from Mathematics and 2 questions based on drawing section.
Marking Criteria: For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded.
Negative Marking: A mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer and no marks will be deducted if a question is left unanswered.

Whats new in JEE Main 2019 ?

  • The conducting body of JEE MAIN will be changed and the new conducting body for JEE Main will be NTA (National Testing Agency).
  • The Exam will be conducted twice a year under the supervision of NTA.
  • Candidates can now appear for JEE Main as per their convenience, either in the month of January or April 2019 or in both of these months.
  • The better rank in any of these months will be considered for admission purposes.
  • Candidates need to appear for JEE Main 2019 only through online mode
  • It is must to fill candidates Aadhar Card number while filling the JEE Main 2019 Application Form
  • If not enrolled under Aadhaar, the aspirants must get Aadhaar number first
  • All aspiring candidates, except from the states of Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya will need Aadhaar Card number to fill JEE Main 2019 application form. Candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir can fill the application form of JEE Main 2019 by using passport number, bank account, ration card number or any other valid government identity number.  
  • JEE Main 2019 All India Ranks will be calculated without normalized score of class 12th marks now.
  • According to an official announcement by MHRD, apart from admissions to IITs, the qualifying marks for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs have also been revised. As per the notification, for candidates to qualify for admissions to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, they should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class 12th.
  • Top 2,24,000 candidates from JEE Main 2019 will be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2018. Till 2017, top 2,20,000 qualifiers of JEE Main were eligible to take JEE Advanced, the second stage of JEE, however, from 2016 onwards, the exam would filter top 2 lakh candidates from JEE Main for appearing in JEE Advanced, the second stage of the entrance exam for admissions to IITs



JEE Main 2019 Application Form
• The application form of JEE Main 2019 (January) session is now available from September 1, 2018 onwards, while the last date to fill the application form of JEE Main 2019
(January) is 30 September 2018.
• JEE Main 2019 application form is available in online mode only.
• Candidates are required to register themselves in order to apply for JEE Main 2019.
After this, they must follow the step-wise procedure mentioned below:
Step 1: Download JEE Main 2018 information bulletin and prudently go through it. You must do this to ensure that you are eligible for appearing in the national level engineering entrance exam.
Step 2: Keep all the required documents and details including scanned images of a candidates photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression ready before applying for JEE Main 2018.
Step 3: Start filling JEE Main 2018 application form. (Note: For filling the application form of JEE Main 2019, the aspirants first need to register themselves by creating a password. The password must be between 8 and 13 characters with the inclusion of a capital letter, a small case letter, a special character & a number).
Step 4: Upload all the scanned images and submit your JEE Main 2019 application form.
Step 5: Pay application/examination fee for JEE Main 2018 through debit/credit card or e-challan. E-challan will get generated after the application form submission.
Step 6: Download acknowledgement slip and keep it safe with you for future reference.

JEE Main 2019 Admit Card
JEE Main 2019 admit card will be available for those candidates who have successfully submitted their application form. The admit card of JEE Main 2019 (January) will tentatively be available by December 2018. JEE Main admit card 2018 can be downloaded by entering application number and password. JEE Main 2019 admit card will carry important information on t like their name, date of birth, paper, gender, city, test center, state code of eligibility, etc. All candidates must carefully cross-check all the information on the admit card and ensure that the information printed is correct.
 
Note: If any discrepancy is found, the candidates should contact JEE Main Secretariat immediately to get it resolved.
 
Without a valid admit card of JEE Main 2019, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre or take the exam.
