  • As per the revised JEE Main Exam pattern 2020, the question booklet of B.E./B.Tech. Will have a total of 75 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Till last year the total number of questions asked in JEE Main paper 1 exam was 90.

  • Till 2019, a total of 30 MCQ or multiple choice questions were asked from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. From 2020, the total number of questions for JEE MAIN Paper I would be 20 MCQs + 5 Questions with answer as numerical value.
  • While the MCQs will have negative marking in cases where candidate marks a wrong answer, there is no negative marking for the other questions.
  • In continuance to the changes, the agency has also notified changes in tie-resolving norms. This year onwards, having lesser number of negative responses in the paper can fetch a candidate good rank in case there is a tie.
