The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2021 in multiple Sessions (February/March/April/May) to give a fair chance to all the students.   

JEE MAIN Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating State Governments and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE(Main). The (B.E./B.Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced),  which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institute of Technology(IITs)

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE (Main) comprises of two papers. The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE MAIN 2021 Important Dates:  

On-line submission of JEE MAIN Application Form: 16.12.2020 to 16.01.2021
Last Date for Successful transaction of JEE MAIN fee: 17.01.2021 

Dates of JEE MAIN Examination Between:  

(Session 1): 23, 24, 25 & 26 February 2021 

(Session 2): 15, 16, 17 & 18 March 2021 

(Session 3): 27, 28, 29 & 30 April 2021 

(Session 4): 24, 25, 26, 27 & 28 May 2021 

Declaration of JEE MAIN Result on NTAs website: Date shall be displayed on the NTA website in due course

The JEE (Main)-2021 is being conducted in multiple Sessions (February/March/April/May) for admissions in the next academic session. The candidates will thus benefit in the following ways:-

1. This will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they are not able to give their best in the one attempt.  

2. This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.

3. In case a candidate has Board Examination in a particular month, or is unable to appear due to COVID-19, the candidate can choose a different month to take the JEE (Main)-2021.

4. A candidate need not appear in all the four Sessions. However, if candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the 2021 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.

5. Keeping in mind various decisions taken by various Boards across the country regarding amendments in the syllabus, NTA has decided that the question paper will contain 90 questions, in which the candidate will have to attempt a total of 75 questions. The choice will be given in Section B (numerical), which will not have any negative marking.

The NTA JEE MAIN Application Form other than online mode would not be accepted, in any case. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
More than one application i.e. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.

The entire application process for JEE (Main) 2021 is online, including uploading of scanned images, payment of fees, and printing of Confirmation Page, Admit Card, etc. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/Fax/WhatsApp/Email/by Hand.

JEE Main 2021 e-Admit Card :

The e-Admit Card would be issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website:, subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and receipt of prescribed application fee by NTA.

Printing of JEE MAIN 2021 Admit Cards from NTA website : First week of February, 2021
JEE Main 2021 admit card will be available for those candidates who have successfully submitted their application form. JEE Main admits card 2021 can be downloaded by entering application number and password. JEE Main 2021 admit card will carry important information like their name, date of birth, paper, gender, city, test centre, state code of eligibility, etc. All candidates must carefully cross-check all the information on the admit card and ensure that the information printed is correct.
Note: If any discrepancy is found, the candidates should contact JEE Main Secretariat immediately to get it resolved.
Without a valid admit card of JEE Main 2021, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre or take the exam. 

Seat Allocation Process and Admission Procedure: 

Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE (Main) 2021 through a Seat Allocation Process to be announced later CSAB/ JoSAA.
